Ron Paul did not win in the real world, but he owned the digital world. The Distant Runner up was Barak Obama. John McCain tapped in just above Tommy Thompson (who is Jabba the Hutt’s cousin by the way), but just below Rick Astley.

So, if you were to hire someone for your staff to wow the online world, and you’re a Republican- you probably want to hire someone related to the Paul campaign. Well, they didn’t. They hired Michael Goldfarb, who said the following about Ron Paul supporters in March. “Let me just say to Ron Paul supporters everywhere, and on behalf of the New Right…get lost.” For those of you who missed it, that was John McCain’s Deputy Communications director telling the most digitally influential people in political history to get lost. This from a campaign who, by the Candidate’s Decree, will not attack the nominee of the Democrat Ticket.

This act would eliminate Federal gasoline taxes after a certain price point, allow states to determine drilling and oil discovery policy without Federal intervention, and removal federal hurdles for building oil refineries.
Next time I hear a “Conservative” complain that no one is supporting free market and low tax solutions for the Energy problems we are facing in this country- I will kindly remind them that Republicans had a chance at a free market economist candidate, and chose Crazy Ol’ Grandpa Crankypants instead.
